One Flower Wednesday, Christmas Through the Year and MAIL!!!

I've missed two weeks posting and looking at blogs, I need to catch up on all I've missed out there.

Here's another Christmas hexie and start of another - they'll become ornaments.
See what other flowers are blooming - visit One Flower Wednesday hosted by Karen.

February's Scrap Club featured the snowball block.  I had a little piece of Maxine fabric and
this mat will go into my Christmas Through The Year box.  Visit the hosts Cheryl and Darlene and see all the great gifts that are being made.

Last Year, in Playing With Blocks Club I was given a challenge to use this green fabric and Whack and Stack method.  I made this table topper and this past weekend I finally quilted and bound it - another project finished!

Also, this past weekend (4 days) I finished my Mystery Club project for May (2012!).  We were given fabric requirements, cutting directions and told to think either reds or blues for berries.  Of course I picked purple...just couldn't make up my mind.  We were given directions when we met and here's the result...

and the most important part...MAIL!!!

I was the Alphabet Challenge winner hosted by Cheryll at Gone Stitchin' .  My daughter already wants a purse...  Thanks for the patterns Cheryll!

MINI BUT MIGHTY!I also joined in on the fun for Cheryll's 12 inch MINI Club and a 'soft' package was waiting for me today.

Thank you Sharon!  I love birdhouses!!!

The mini quilt is beautiful and I love the leaves, buttons,
and beads you added!  It's perfect - my daughter thought
I told you what I liked.  Thank you for the fabric and scissors holder too!

Thank you and have a great week!

ABC Challenge

Cheryll at Gone Stitchin has set up another wonderful swap - Alphabet Challenge.
May's AlpHaBeT CHaLLenGe letter is

Asian or African Fat 1/4 of Fabric
Animal buttons x 4
Apricot Ribbon ( 1 meter / 1 yard)
                                                            Azure Coloured Thread
Apron using Apricot and Aqua.

I finished the challenge, and of course found it challenging.  This is the first piece of clothing I made.  I started by cutting out a square of fabric and, of course, didn't think it all the way through that this square was really a 'diamond'.  Oh well..... I looked for new fabric which WAS NOT directional yet still had aqua and apricot and started again.

On to the next challenge and a trip to Michigan to visit my Aunt next week.
Happy Stitching and Have a Great Week!

One Flower Wednesday

Since making (hexie) stones is a little boring after awhile I decided to start working on Christmas ornaments....

I'll have this ready to hang on a tree  by next week and hopefully a few more.  Thanks to Karen and all the other ladies who keep me motivated.  Take a look and see what's blooming at One Flower Wednesday.

This past week I made a zippered bag and it turned out!  I know all of you can make these, but I was so excited!!!  My daughter picked out the fabric she wanted and she was so pleased with the results - she loves it!

And my seams even matched!

This week my goal is to make an apron with aqua and apricot material....it will be another first.  I know how to do piecing (straight pieces) and now with following your blogs and joining in on swaps I've learned so much.  Thank you for all your encouragement!
Happy Stitching!

One Flower Wednesday and More......

I know I said I'd be making more stones and adding them to my quilt but...I made a flower instead - much more colorful!  Visit Karen at One Flower Wednesday to see beautiful blooms and growing gardens.

I also finish a BOM quilt I start in 2008.  I was given a pattern and fat eights each month.  I started out hand piecing the blocks together and then took a class on machine piecing.   I finished putting the binding on Sunday night and all that's left to do is a label and maybe a sleeve to hang it.

And the quilting....Dan did an amazing job!  Just look at the quilting - pictures don't do it justice.

Just one more thing...

There's a fun swap or 2 starting.  Cheryll at Gone Stitchin' has posted the Alphabet Challenge which has you collect/make items starting with the letter A .  I've already started.  I just need to learn how to make an apron...

Cheryll has also posted a 12 inch Mini Club that I'm excited to join read about it here.

              Happy Quilting!
