FNwF...just Finished

I know it's Saturday but I just finished the quilt top I was working on.  I took Friday off work to sew and here's what I finished:

The quilt is called Thicketty Mountain and the free pattern is found at American Made Brand - click HERE. Some of the patterns are free (pdf) and others bring you to a different site.  My daughter already claimed the quilt but maybe I should keep it for myself.

Since last FNwF I made a baby quilt and pillow case.  The 'Baby" is almost 9 months but at least it's finally finished.

FNwF a little late on posting...

It's been a busy week  at work and home.  Mice seem to like to get warm in the house.  we cleaned up after one last weekend and another mouse this weekend...we hope that's the end of it this season!

I sewed a little Friday after getting home late from work and then a little on Saturday.  A friend gave me the pattern Halloween Blooms from Fig Tree & Co.

Since this year I'm using fabric and scraps from home I went 'shopping' in the closets and found a layer cake that my daughter would like.  It's bright, has flamingos and I just searched online for the name but maybe its older than I thought.

Forty two blocks are used in this quilt and I hope to have it finished for her birthday in March.

I'm off to do more mouse cleaning and disinfection.......

Stop by Cheryll's FNWF and see what everyone has been stitching.  I'm headed there on my net break!  Thanks for Cheryll!

Have a great week!

FNwF

Walking in a Winter Wonderland......

It snowed and snowed and snowed yesterday.  Everything is White!  The trees still look beautiful this morning with all that snow but I was glad the roads were clear since it was a work day.

I'm a little late in posting my stitching this week.  I worked on "Blanket Weather" by Kathy Wall at Woolkeeper. (Click Here).  I made one for myself and I'm working on finishing one for each of my sisters (only two, one older and one younger).

I'm now headed over to Cheryll's FNwF to see what all the other ladies have been stitching....

FNwF

I'm headed over to Cheryll's Gone Stitching' (HERE) as soon as I post to see all the wonderful projects.

First, I finished my advent calendar

Put the stitched days for the calendar in a box

MY DAUGHTER LOVED IT!

I also worked on stitching from Gail Pan's new Christmas book.  I know it's hard to believe but I misplaced my book in my sewing mess or I would take a picture of the cover.  I taught a class and we made ornaments...

and then I stitched this hanging from her book...

As soon as I find where I placed Gail Pan's book I'll be stitching another....I love ALL the patterns!

FNwF

I had a great night sewing with friends here in town and online.  It was a nice night out - a lot of talking, good food and of course a little sewing.

I worked on a Christmas project for my daughter.  Since she was little we've looked for an Advent Calendar or count down for Christmas and I finally found a nice one.

You are suppose to make a quilt and then add the blocks each day.  Here is the quilt without the border and a start on the blocks.  I changed the pattern a little and made the blocks out of wool so I could do hand stitching instead of machine.  My goal this year has been to use my stash for projects. For this project I used scrap pieces of wool and only purchased the background fabric.  For the quilt, all the colorful fabrics were from my stash but I will need to buy border fabric.

I also just finished a fall mat.  This is a kit by Woolkeeper (click HERE).  I love Kathy's designs! They are so easy to follow, and her kits contain beautiful wools.

I'm heading over to Cheryll's to follow the links to see what the other wonderful stitchers did Friday Night.  Why don't you join me by clicking HERE.

FNwF

I can't wait until tomorrow/ Friday to sew - it's been too long since I visited everyone!

I know I've missed many FNwF and various other online swaps and such but there were many hospital visits and doctor appointments since January.  My husband and his newly acquired pacemaker seem to being doing pretty well but still has a few restrictions until his next appointment.
My daughter has been feeling under the weather for quite a while and I just got over Bronchitis.  I think I was just worn out from worrying and taking care of my family that my allergies and a cold was just too much.

I look forward to seeing what everyone has been stitching.  Please join me at Cheryll's FNwF  (click HERE) and see all the wonderful projects.

FNwF and more...

After work, therapy and a little cleaning I thought I'd sit down before sewing.  A few mindless computer games and a little TV watching in a comfortable recliner .... I fell asleep. So FNwF happened on Saturday.

This is the same quilt I worked on last month but there's a bit more done.  I have 20 of the 42 blocks complete.

I've also been working on wool Valentine projects from the Woolkeeper click HERE.

I have just a little stitching the mat so far.  I can't wait to get back to stitching after laundry today.  I hope to finish the mat and get started on the hanging.  There are also two new St Patrick /March kits.  I love Kathy's patterns and kits; the directions are great, every piece of wool is labelled and there's always enough wool to complete the project.

I joined the Neighborhood Block Party.  If you would like to join in the fun visit Irene at
Hilachas for the details- click HERE.  Then join Ida at My Sister Made me do it... to link up your house block.  Click HERE

I'd like to wish you all a
Happy Valentine's Day!
